Candle Safety

Candle Safety Tips

Follow these 6 simple candle safety tips:

1.  Never leave a burning candle unattended.

2.  Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire such as furniture,
     drapes, bedding, carpets and flammable
decorations. Keep at least 3 feet away from flammable items and burn candles
on a non-flammable surface to catch the melting wax.

3.  Make sure children and pets cannot reach burning candles.
4.  Avoid drafts, vents or air currents.  This will help prevent rapid or uneven
     burning, sooting, and excessive dripping.
5.  Never touch or move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquefied.
6.  Place burning candles at least 3 inches apart from one another.

Police traffic control, safety vests, gloves, and bags will be provided. The crew will meet at the Blueberry Hill Park Activity Center parking lot.
